Career Guidance for Every Level

Whether you're starting your first year or finishing a PhD, the guidance looks different depending on where you are. We adjust based on your actual situation.

Undergraduate Students
Which modules actually matter for the career you want, how to get work experience while studying, when to start applying for graduate schemes, and what to do if your degree isn't directly linked to a job title.

PhD Support

PhD Support - From First Idea to Funded Place

Most PhD rejections come down to the proposal or the funding application, not the student's ability. Those are the two things we spend the most time on.

Research Topic & Proposal Writing
The hardest part for most people is finding the research gap - what hasn't been done. We help you locate it, frame it, and build a proposal reviewers can follow.
Supervisor & University Selection
Your supervisor matters more than the ranking. We help you find people actively publishing in your area and show you how to make contact.
UKRI & Funding Applications
UKRI, Research Councils, departmental studentships - different criteria, different priorities. We identify what you can go for and build applications around what each funder wants.
PhD Personal Statement
A PhD statement needs to show research readiness, not just academic results. Most people write it like an undergrad statement. We fix that early.
PhD Interview Preparation
PhD interviews test your proposal, your methodology, and how your work fits the supervisor's agenda. We prepare you for those areas specifically.
Already Enrolled? We Help Too
Struggling with progress, a difficult supervisor situation, or the viva coming up? We work with students already in a PhD, not just those trying to get in.
Why This Works

PhD Applications Have Specific Failure Points

Most strong candidates who get rejected don't lose because they're not good enough. They lose because the research gap section wasn't clear, or the funding narrative didn't match what the funder was actually trying to fund. Those are fixable problems.

We've worked through enough proposals and funding applications to know exactly where things go wrong - and what needs to change.

Scholarship Guidance

Fully Funded Scholarship Support

Most applications fail because the student applied to something they didn't qualify for, or the essays didn't address what the panel was scoring. We deal with both.

Chevening Scholarship
The leadership essay is where most Chevening applications are decided. We work through your real leadership background and frame it in a way that connects to what selectors are scoring.
Commonwealth Scholarship
CSFP eligibility varies by country and field. A lot of students apply without checking whether they actually qualify. We verify that first before moving to the application itself.
University & Department Awards
University scholarships are often poorly advertised with internal deadlines most students miss. We check what's available for your course and institution before those windows close.
Essays & Personal Statements
Scholarship essays need to answer why you, why this programme, and why now - in relation to what the funder is trying to achieve. We work through that argument with you.
Scholarship Interview Coaching
Panel interviews test how well you understand the scholarship's purpose and whether your goals fit it. We prepare you specifically for that format - not standard interview coaching.
Finding the Right Funding First
We check what you actually qualify for before you start writing. Based on nationality, subject, career stage, and institution. Saves a lot of time spent on applications that were never going to work.
Professional Registration

HCPC, NMC & Professional Registration

Applications get delayed or rejected for specific, avoidable reasons. We go through yours before submission so problems come up before they cost you time.

HCPC Registration Application Support
The HCPC registration process has specific evidence requirements that catch a lot of applicants out - particularly around the Standards of Proficiency. We go through your supporting evidence, check it maps correctly, and identify anything that needs strengthening before you submit.

NMC Registration Support
The NMC registration process differs between UK-trained nurses and those applying from overseas. We deal with both, including overseas applicants working through the CBT test, OSCE preparation, and evidence of practice documentation.

GDC & GPhC Regulated Courses
Thinking about dentistry, dental therapy, pharmacy, or another GDC or GPhC-regulated career? We cover the training pathway in practice - costs, competition for places, what happens at each stage, and where students typically run into problems.

Why Registration Applications Fail
Most failed registrations come down to the same few things - missing or incorrectly formatted supporting evidence, gaps in the standards mapping, or documentation that doesn't meet current requirements. Requirements change periodically and not all online guidance reflects what's currently being asked for.
Up-to-date knowledge of current requirements
Pre-submission review to catch problems early

CV & Interview Prep

CV, LinkedIn & Interview Preparation

These aren't one-size-fits-all services. Each one is built around the specific roles you're going after and the employers in your sector.

CV Rewrite
We rewrite your CV around the specific roles you're applying for. That means the language, structure, and how your experience is framed will match what those employers are actually filtering for. Generic CVs that work for everything tend to work well for nothing.
Full CV service details
LinkedIn Profile Optimisation
Most student LinkedIn profiles are thin on the kind of content UK recruiters actually search for. We rebuild your profile from the headline down - with the right keywords, a summary that explains what you actually offer, and a structure that gets you appearing in searches.
Full LinkedIn service details
Mock Interview Preparation
We identify which types of interview questions are costing you marks and practise those specifically - not a run-through of standard competency questions. Includes graduate scheme interviews, NHS interviews, academic interviews, and professional registration assessments.
Full interview prep details
Job Search & Placement Support
If you've been sending applications for months with no responses, that usually has a fixable cause. We look at what's going out - the CV, the cover letters, which roles you're targeting, how you're approaching recruiters - and work out where the problem is.
Full job placement details
Cover Letter & Application Writing
Cover letters for UK graduate roles, NHS positions, and academic posts all have different formats. We write or review yours based on the specific employer and the role, not from a template.
Academic & Study Planning
Choosing modules, deciding whether a particular Masters is worth the cost, managing a heavy workload. We give you an honest answer based on your situation, not a general overview from a university prospectus.

04
You Get the Outcome

Student Reviews

What Students Say After Their Sessions

Feedback from students who came to us unsure of their next step and left with a clear one.

★★★★★
"Finished my BSc Psychology with no idea whether to do a Masters or just start applying for jobs. Two sessions in and it clicked. They'd actually looked at my dissertation topic and the modules I'd taken before the call - wasn't generic Masters vs work advice."
Priya M.
University of Birmingham, Psychology
★★★★★
"HCPC rejected my first application over the supporting evidence format. Went through everything properly with Tutorment, resubmitted. Passed second time. Should've done it this way from the start - would've saved me three months."
Adebayo K.
Physiotherapy Graduate, London
★★★★★
"Two failed Chevening attempts on my own. They went through the leadership essay with me from scratch and ran a full practice interview. Got shortlisted this time. The application was much stronger than anything I'd sent before."
James O.
LLM International Law, Sheffield
★★★★★
"My PhD proposal kept getting rejected and I couldn't see why. First session they spotted it - the research gap section wasn't working. We spent the whole session on that one part. Got accepted at Nottingham on my next application."
Meera S.
PhD Education Studies, Nottingham
★★★★★
"Came from Nigeria with no read on what UK employers look for. The CV they helped me put together looked completely different from what I'd had. Two interviews in the three weeks after I started sending it out."
Chidi N.
MSc Finance, University of Leeds
★★★★★
"Went back into nursing at 34, had no idea about NMC registration timelines or what counted as valid evidence of practice. The adviser walked through it all in plain terms. Felt like talking to someone who'd done it themselves."
Sharon T.
Adult Nursing, University of Surrey
★★★★★
"Booked to find out which HCPC speech therapy programmes lead to NHS jobs. Got a far more specific answer than I expected - things my uni careers office had never brought up, including which placement types carry weight on a CV."
Ling W.
BSc Speech & Language Therapy, Cardiff
★★★★★
"Did a one-off session to check my PhD funding application. They pointed out straight away that I hadn't tied my research aims to what the funder was trying to fund. An easy miss - but it would have cost me the whole application."
Rohan P.
PhD Biomedical Sciences, King's College London

FAQs

Questions About Our Services

Straightforward answers to what people ask most before booking.

We use the first session to understand your situation - your level, your course, what you're trying to achieve, and what's currently in the way. By the end, you'll have a clear picture of what needs to happen next. If you want to continue after that, we talk through what an ongoing plan would look like. There's no pressure and no card required.

Yes. You don't have to take on a broad career plan if you just need help with one specific thing. A lot of students come to us for a single focused piece of work - a PhD proposal review, an HCPC pre-submission check, a CV rewrite for a specific role. We'll give you a clear quote after the free consultation based on exactly what's needed.

Yes - all sessions are online, so there's no restriction based on where you study. We've worked with students at Russell Group universities, post-92 institutions, smaller colleges, and students based outside the UK who are applying for UK programmes or registrations.

Sessions run over WhatsApp, Zoom, or video call - whichever works best for you. Scheduling is flexible across UK and IST time zones. Most students find WhatsApp the most convenient for follow-up questions and document sharing between sessions.

Yes, and that's actually one of the more common situations we work with. Most rejections come down to specific problems in the proposal or application - the research gap not being clear enough, the funding narrative not matching what the funder wanted, or evidence that wasn't formatted correctly. Once we identify what went wrong, we rebuild around it. Students who've been rejected before and worked with us have gone on to get accepted.

University careers offices do good general work but they typically cover employment basics - CV formatting, job boards, and campus recruitment. We go further into areas most offices don't deal with: PhD applications, HCPC and NMC registration, fully funded scholarships, international student visa pathways, and sector-specific career planning for healthcare, law, and regulated professions. The advice is also one-to-one and built around your actual situation, not a service appointment with a rotating adviser.

Every counsellor holds a PhD, Masters degree, or Level 4 qualification in counselling, and has at least two years of hands-on experience in UK career guidance or academic admissions. They've personally gone through the processes they advise on. We vet every counsellor before they work with students.
